History

I still vividly remember my first day in this office – it was 1976 and I was twelve years old.

My parents had come here on the recommendation of a friend, and chose regular chiropractic checkups as part of our healthcare. I did not have “back problems”. Our chiropractor, Dr. Ricciardi, explained that the brain is connected by nerves to every part of body, and that good health depends on that connection. Since spinal bones can “subluxate” or misalign, they can irritate the nerves and diminish health. Good and conservative chiropractors adjust the spine to restore its alignment and contribute to good health.

I decided to become a chiropractor at my second visit, proudly announcing that “one day I’m going to be a chiropractor and work in this office when you need me!” So much happened in the 16 years that followed, but when the need arose, I returned to care for our patients. Being here is not only a profession, but the fulfillment of a childhood promise to continue and enhance a tradition now 50 years in the making.

As a teenager, when my family came for a checkup I would stand in the hallway and watch Dr. Ricciardi adjust patients, hoping to learn by observation. Years later, I conducted my internship in this very office, repeating professionally the apprenticeship I had anticipated as a child. With dedicated observation and study, I enhanced my academic training with the techniques created and improved by Dr. Ricciardi since he began this practice in 1958.

In the time since I entered practice more than 18 years ago, I have introduced computerized spinal evaluation, research and consulting to the practice. I continue to attend many conferences to update and expand our procedures.

I am proud to continue a 50-year history of patient care in this office, and look forward to giving a lifestyle of good health to your family as was given to my family.
